I hated my last manicure so much (Shiny Chevrons) that I covered it up (briefly) during a stop at Sephora. I had seen the Illamasqua speckled line on work/play/polish, and although I would never spend $16 on a single nail color, they looked really pretty! Thus, I experimented with them (the security guard kept walking by and eyeing me like I was crazy. It was fun).
I started with a purple-blue-green gradient on my thumb, since I love the way the polishes blend together!
I then did the rest of my hand with the colors they had, which was everything but the tan. Interestingly, they were sold out of the minty green! I think the blue and purple are prettier, but others clearly do not agree.
Unfortunately, you can see a bit of the design underneath peaking through, as I only had time to put on one coat of each color (except the pink where I did two). To be fair, for a single coat of color to cover another design this easily speaks very highly of the Illamasqua, and the colors were stunning!
The color names are:
- Pink- Scarce
- Green- Mottle
- Blue- Fragile
- Purple- Speckle
When I got home, I realized that my nails reminded me of the pastel M&Ms I picked up on a whim from Rite Aid…so I had to take photos with them.

I really liked ur last manicure, u crazy girl! Yeah, that’s really good coverage! Did u do the other hand 2? I agree, 2 expensive. Try and grab the Hard Candy ones that r a dupe at Walmart. I’ll be on the hunt 4 them this weekend. Now I need candy, thanks, LOL.
Thanks! I didn’t do the other hand, since I was standing awkwardly at sephora. I did consider it though! And there is lots of polish I wish I could grab at walmart…only, there is no walmart anywhere nearby. I have to content myself with rite aid! Lemme know how the hard candy ones match up though
This is really cute! I’ve nominated you for a One Lovely Blog Award
