The boyfriend really likes black and silver, so after subjecting him to such horrors as glitter and peacocks recently, I decided to give him a design I thought he would like. I used only black, grey, silver, and white, and just went nuts!
I did dots, striping tape (it turns out that trying to alternate colors between lines on striping tape is DIFFICULT), magnetic polish, a gradient, and plain old art polish brush. The gradient I tried using a method I found online…since I don’t have a make-up sponge (and kitchen sponges really do look awful, leaving big holes in your gradient), I used an eyeshadow brush! The ones that look a bit like pointed q-tips? And it worked quickly and beautifully, and cleaned off nicely with acetone afterwards! I’m in love.
Colors:
- Black: Sinful Colors – Black on Black
- Dark grey/magnetic: Nails Inc – Trafalgar Square
- Light silver: A England – Excalibur
- White: Sinful Colors – Snow me White
I also discovered a new dotting tool to make medium dots…the unbent end of a paper clip. Who knew? My bigger dots are made with an unbent hair pin. I really like unbending things.
Please pardon any messiness…this was done by my non-dominant hand. My dominant hand got something much funner, that I will show you in a few days!

I love the dotted nail! Black, white, and silver look so pretty together
thanks! I did that one first, and was pretty much inspired to keep the rest with the same color pattern
