Today I’m going to show you some nail art using a new indie brand, Anne Kathleen. She just came out with her first collection, Blossoms, named (suitably) after flowers. I already showed you Poppy, and today I have Linnea.
I started with a blue gradient, so I could paint Linnea overtop and see how the pink shimmer affected the different shades of blue.
Linnea contains small pale blue glitter (hexes and squares) and larger pink matte hearts suspended in a clear polish with pink shimmer. The polish is a bit thick but usable. Unlike Poppy, which dried incredibly gritty such that the glitter stayed on top as the nail polish color settled, Linnea dried smooth and beautiful.
I like the polish better over the dark blue (free edge of my nail), where all of the colors pop more. Personally, I prefer the way this polish looked on one coat (when I didn’t drag out any hearts, see the first photo) than with two coats! Which is to say the pink shimmer and the blue glitter is beautiful and somewhat subtle, and I think the hearts…decrease a bit from the grace of the polish.
That being said, it is easy to avoid the hearts! I had to go dig (sometimes, repeatedly) to get any hearts out. Some stuck to the brush but they didn’t like coming out on the nail regardless. So, if you want a pretty pink shimmer with some blue glitter, look no further!
