Hair and Trees

This is a non-polish post (crazy, right?). Today I want to showcase two other things I do…namely hair (most long hair, not my own) and paint larger surfaces than nails (although I don’t do this often).

First: My giveaway ends tonight! If you haven’t, you should enter to win free pretty polishes!

Now then…

Whenever I see my baby sister and her long thick curly locks, I NEED to play with them. Usually she gives me free reign, which can be a problem! This time, I gave her a half pony, and braided that into a bun. I then took all of the rest of the hair that was down and divided it into 5 strands.

Each of those 5 strands turned into a tiny braid….4 to loop around the back in a somewhat-elegant fashion, and one to go around the bun itself! She is so tolerant of my crazy 😀

What do you think?

My family is now the proud owner of a beach house. There are a few spare bedrooms for guests, one of which is on the third floor of the house where my bedroom and that of my middle sister resides. So, we have claimed the third floor as our own. Including the guest room! We decided to paint a mural of a tree on the walls. It is not yet complete (there will be leaves in varying shades of green and possibly silver), but this is how it stands.

I decided I wanted a tree blowing in the wind, and that I would do the branches while my sister made some crazy swirly pattern out of the trunk. It started off great, until she left the country for a year! So I had to finish up the trunk without her. Hopefully you can’t tell where her work ends and mine begins!

Someday, I will finish the “scary tree” as we call it. Until then, blow in silent wind!

  1. I reallllllly love the mural! It’s so pretty! I also decorate my house with lots of tree-themed art.

    • I love tree things! My father decided that unless the tree was “completed” by New Years that he would paint over it. So I had to get it close enough to done that he wouldn’t know the difference.

  2. Oh my, that hair is insane! And I love the swirly tree 😀

  3. This tree is INSANE. I wouldn’t hesitate to have it painted on my wall in my new flat, it is so original and pretty! : )
