I always want to try Indie brands, and they are always too expensive! Luckily, Mentality had a sale not too long ago, and in addition to Rascal (which I showed you here) I also picked up a deep pink matte shimmer polish, Allure.
I couldn’t come up with anything perfect to do with this polish. So, I improvised. I started with a black base. I added a gold stamp…but not just ANY stamp. No, I figured I was going to be covering roughly half my nail with a different polish, so why not just stamp half my nail? And why not use a stamp I could never otherwise use, because it is meant as a french stamp? So out comes bundle monster 218, a lovely curly stamp. I am incapable of centering anything…so this is what I ended up with.
Over that, I added top coat, tape, and went to work with Allure! I used some craft scissors to make an interesting pattern, and applied Allure over the black half of my nail.
The results aren’t perfect (I need to come up with other cool uses for a pink matte polish), but it was certainly intriguing!

I love the idea! I’ve never had any use for French stamps, they don’t seem to suit me. But I should definitely try stamping half my nail in the future 🙂
Yah! I totally agree. I never do french tips or anything like that, so I couldn’t think of much of a use for them, and some are quite pretty!

Beautiful!! I love the contrast between the matte and the gloss! This is such a great use of the french stamps! I never use them b/c I can’t line them up across the tip right! LOL!
I can’t line them up at ALL 😀 but it’s nice to have a use for them!

Exactly! I’ve tried using them sometimes with their intended positioning, but I can never get them to line up straight!
