Among the giveaways that I recently won, was the entire Nubar halloween collection. It consists of a neon orange, a glow-in-the-dark top coat, a purple glitter topper, and a black shimmer. I am posting this on the weekend because I do not feel it qualifies as nail art. It is too much of a failure *hangs hands in shame*
I already own 3 black shimmer/glitter polishes, so decided not to keep that polish (it will be showing up in a giveaway instead!). Using the other 3 polishes, I tried to put together a cohesive mani. It did NOT work.
I thought using my very favorite polish (Cosmic Forces by Emily de Molly) would tie the purple and orange together, with the holographic orange-leaning large circle glitters. Nope. Although I love the orange neon polish, the purple glitter topper was very very very sparse on the glitter (I used three coats at the base of my nails and it was nothing NEAR opaque), and the glow in the dark topper didn’t glow. Maybe I needed to charge it in sunlight…but it was cloudy. And I was spoiled by Dayglow (Serum No 5) to think that glowing polishes should just…well…glow. That being said, the orange WAS very pretty, two coats and dried to a matte finish.
Moral: some manis just stink. Boo! Happy (snowy!!!!) Sunday!
