Pebbled Rainbows

I think double stamping is a thing that I like. However, it has been a long times since I tried a multi-color stamp. Much less with another stamp over it! I got the idea from madamluck, although hers looks better than mine.

Next time, I need to figure out the colors for the rainbow stamp better, because the pink/red color was overpowering. Live and learn! I see more of these in the future, with the new stamping set 😀

  1. Double stamping is something that I’ve never tried but I think I should have a play with it now, its pretty cool.

    • its surprisingly easy, actually. just make sure (as usual) that the base color is completely completely dry. The stamps themselves are so thin that they dry in a matter of minutes!

  2. These look stunning your so talented to beanie to do them this well xxx

  3. It’s very pretty. How did you do the multiple colours?

    • thanks! and multiple colors is fun, but slightly tricky. Basically, you get out the colors you want and dab them (just a little polish, not a whole big blob as if you were doing the whole plate in one color) all over the stamp. When you scrape the colors into the design, you end up with a mottly pattern where the colors remain mostly distinct. Then you pick up and stamp like normal. If you want more of a mixed-color look, you can use the polish left on the scrapper and reapply THAT to the stamp. My ring and thumb were done applying color directly to the stamp (so you see all colors distinctly) while my pinky, middle, and ring were done by reapplying leftover polish off the scrapper (so the lighter colors get lost a bit but you get more of a blended gradient look)
      Hope that helped!

  4. I thought it looked like mesh wire “imprisoning” “fenced,” stamped, multi-color-sponged nails!

I never before heard of different colors on the plate being scraped. I wouldn’t have thought this much clarity would be possible. TX for sharing!
