So, this was the post that I thought I had written for Friday. Oops! Anyway, enjoy some leadlighting (aka filling in stamps with different colored jelly polishes).
The stamp here is from the Born Pretty Store, plate 17. It has lot os cool swirly flower bits! You’ll be seeing another stamp from this plate in a few days (I couldn’t resist). It stamps very nicely!
I do need to get my hands on some better jelly polishes…ones that DONT HAVE GLITTER. Ugh. If i had more empty tiny bottles I might make my own. Any (cheap) suggestions?
The base color here is Bare Escape by Maybelline, a light grey. All the leadlight polishes are from the scented mini collection by Sephora by OPI many years ago.
The stamp itself transferred nicely, and I tried to get a slightly different part of the image on each nail. I love this buffet-style plate! I don’t have to worry about perfectly matching up each stamp because deviation totally works. Lots of stamping space!
Anyway, I hope you enjoyed this (delayed) fall mani! And if you want to get this pretty darn awesome stamping plate for yourself, head over to the Born Pretty Store where it is on sale right now for $1.99. Don’t forget to use my 10% off code — LY5X31!

There was a Wet ‘n Wild mini polish special at CVS this past weekend that was $4.88 for nine little bottles of various categories (Megalast, etc.) with one dollar off at the start and $3 in Beauty Bucks so the whole thing cost 88 cents.
Maybe if your CVS still has some around they will keep that price.
I haven’t done it myself but you could try looking for some el cheapo bottles of top coat tip some out and mix up your own lead light polishes.
i have some $0.99 top coats, but I don’t know that is worth mixing up my own given how quickly they might dry out…
then again, 99 cents is a LOT cheaper than buying some! so good call
They’re so pretty! I’ve got to get some jellies myself, as every last one I own has glitter in it. Sigh. So many manis, so little money. 🙂
I KNOW right?!
So pretty. This may seem strange, but it reminds me a little of a fruit hat (like Carmen Miranda style)!
hahaha! ok, that was nowhere near my radar…but i can kinda see what you’re saying! stacked tropical things with leaves…
