This mani was a little more ambitious than I had planned, and I think it slightly missed the mark. This is what happens whenever I introduce yellow into nail art. It ruins everything!
I wanted to make something great because I was playing with an awesome new polish, Yuna by Zoya. Yuna is a blue-leaning dark grey with golden glitter in it. And this polish is so pretty! It covered wonderfully in two thin coats. As it turns out I don’t own a single dark grey (although I’ve been looking…I own 3 medium greys as a result, ugh!) (other note: apparently both ‘grey’ and ‘gray’ are proper spellings, who knew?). This is such an elegant color, and the glitter really adds something!
Then I had to go and try to make some crazy striping tape design with light grey and yellow (because the internet says they go well together) and it did not work. The boyfriend thinks they look like signaling flags used on ships, so here we go.
~ Dark grey: Zoya – Yuna
~ light grey: Maybelline – Bare Escape
~ Yellow: WOW – #301
You guys will hopefully be seeing more of Yuna when I can think of what nail art to do on her!
