Burnished Angles

Somehow this mani actually came out ok. I don’t know how. It wasn’t me. See, I have another new Mentality polish to share with you today, a blackened green metallic polish called Imply. It stamps well, and despite looking almost grey, the color is really intriguing. And so silly me goes “lets pair off a dark greenish-teal with a copper! Cause those look good together!” and I went for my copper polish. BIG MISTAKE.

Ugh. I need to stop painting with Penny by Zoya! SO MANY BUBBLES AND BRUSH STROKES. Imply, on the other hand, went on like a dream.

Imply is a deep metallic that looks almost grey, but has green overtones (especially if you put it next to a real grey polish). It is opaque in one coat (if you are careful…my pinky has two ’cause I was rushing). It also stamps well.

If you are looking for an interesting smoky stamping polish or a one-coater, Imply is a good choice! However…yah. Don’t pair it off with a copper that doesn’t paint well or you will spend the better part of an hour trying to fix it with lines. So many lines. Although I guess I’m officially decent at free-handing lines *headdesk*.

~ Copper: Zoya – Penny
~ Dark teal: Mentality – Imply
~ Stamp: Bundle Monster – 222

If you want to pick up Imply (or really any other dark awesome stamping metallic polish) you can check them out at the Mentality store for $6.50 each. It’s a good price for a stamping polish that is thin enough to actually work as a stand-alone polish too!

  1. I’m sitting in front of a Verilux Happy Lamp in order not to go totally insane and Mentality Imply definitely looks quite green on my monitor next to Zoya Penny.

Mentality polishes seem to all be good and most of their polishes are also great for stamping over everything! Good to know you get “double use” that way.

  2. Ugh I hate polishes that bubbles!! Such a waste! But I think your colours actually look quite nice together 🙂

    • I’m glad! I went for the whole color-combo thing (and obviously didn’t think. Darn bubbly polish). I also cannot quite understand why polish from the same brand sometimes works and sometimes doesn’t. Don’t they test it? I mean, I get it with cheap drug store polish, but cummon zoya!!
