The theme for today was “metallic” which I mis-read as “magnetic”…and then decided magnetic polish looks metallic enough to count! So I put together a magnetic polish gradient and stamped over it.
Gradients with magnetic polish are fun…if a bit counter-intuitive! Usually you put on two layers of polish, putting the second one on particularly thick, and then hold the magnet over the polish to raise the pattern. To make a gradient, you treat it like normal polish (aka using a makeup sponge) and then add a layer of top coat. Hold the magnet over the nail once the top coat is down but still wet, and you get the pattern all the same!
~ Copper: Sally Hansen – Kinetic Copper
~ Purple: Nails Inc – Houses of Parliament
~ Black: Sinful Colors – Black on Black
~ Stamp: Born Pretty – L003
I have the sad feeling that I only use my magnetic polishes when there is a challenge, because otherwise I forget about them! Which is unfortunate, since they are rather cool.
Takeaway: I should use magnetic polishes more frequently! Also, stamping makes everything more fun. Enjoy!
