Beautiful color, poor execution. Oops! This was going to go in fail week even though it was never a contender for the 31 Day Challenge because I messed it up, but I didn’t have the photos edited in time. So, here it is instead, in all its sad glory.
The base is one of the new(ish) fall Zoyas called Cecilia, a beautiful dark teal. It covered nicely in two thin coats, and was awesomely self-leveling. I’m glad I got it!
The problem started when I went to go add my lace stamping decals. They didn’t quite go on as planned…and then once that was done I went and added some copper for highlights and it just looks like too much. Mostly, the stamps didn’t turn out how I wanted but overall the color combination just…doesn’t work. I need to stop paring teal and copper!
~ Teal: Zoya – Cecilia
~ Copper: Zoya – Penny
~ White: Mentality – White Opaque
~ Stamp: Born Pretty – L020
Live and learn! I think I’ll be using Cecilia a LOT in the coming weeks, because a dark teal is kinda perfect for…most of my manicures :-p
