We FINALLY got some sun yesterday, for the first time in almost two weeks! It’s also rather lucky, since we had our engagement photo shoot yesterday afternoon (these are not the nails I had…you won’t see those for at least another week and I am sad to report that they are light pink and rather boring, just in case older Eva is a stodgy loser who doesn’t like bright colors). Regardless, I figured posting some flowery nails today was fitting in honor of the sun!
Thanks to a sale at color4nails, I now own a lemming of mine, Rough Sketch by Emily de Molly! I used Rough Sketch as the base for these stamping decals. It covered nicely in three thin coats (I probably could have done two thick ones, but three thin dries faster). It is a pretty blue-leaning teal base with a mix of orange, fuchsia, and dark blue large glitters, with a smattering of smaller blue and fuchsia glitters. Its a really fun color combo! Mostly I really like orange/pink/teal.
The flower colors were made with the glitter colors in Rough Sketch in mind. I had a few others painted out with blue flowers, but I ended up liking the pink ones better, so I just went with it! I maybe should have used a one shade lighter pink…but I don’t actually own that many medium pinks so I had to make do.
~ Teal glitter: Emily de Molly – Rough Sketch
~ Black: Sinful Colors – Black on Black
~ Light green: Maybelline – Green with Envy
~ Pink: Zoya – Ciara
~ Blue: Zoya – Sia
~ Stamp: Y – 015
The stamp also has dragons on it, which I have used previously but this time I picked out the flowers instead. I’ve figured out that making stamping decals actually works better with my old hard non-clear stamper, because it picks up a bit more of the pigment. The clear ones are wonderful for placement, so I don’t care if my black is slightly grey, but with decals the intensity of the black actually matters! Go figure.
Hope you enjoyed! And I have at least 6 other new Emily de Molly polishes to show you guys in the coming weeks (almost none of them are actually NEW new, just new to me) so stay tuned!
