I’m pretty sure these nails are my first ever attempt at a dry-brush mani. I have to say, it was fun, easy, and looks pretty cool! I think I’ll try it again sometime 🙂
The design was inspired by badgirlnails. I made up the design on my thumb, and it looks cool too. Sadly, my ring finger tape is a bit wonky, but I only realized that AFTER I added top coat, so too late!

This mani reminds me of the time between spring and summer, when the swimming pools open! Its the teal. It has to be. It also works pretty well for Easter 🙂
Hope you enjoyed!
Finally, a post suitable for spring! I usually go towards either dark saturated colors, or very pale nude colors (for the hospital). This mani is just dark enough that I didn’t know if I’d be able to wear it in the hospital, but not so dark that I felt transgressive wearing it on the weekends! Especially with those rhinestones. However, I was safe! No one even noticed :-p
The art was inspired by @lifeisbetterpolished, because I would never think of something with hand-outlined flowers. For good reason as it turns out…I am never hand-outlining flowers again. That took forever! The results were really satisfying, however.
Painting these onto my right hand was incredibly challenging, but worked out ok as well! I really enjoyed wearing this mani, despite the lack of bold colors 🙂

Thus ends my week of awesome manis! Back to regular things next week…a mix of good and meh. But no more required classes and ridiculous exams for me! Happy Friday!
I bought this particular polish on a whim, mostly because I wanted another polish in this collection and felt like placing and order for a single polish was silly. Jokes on me though…I actually like this one even better than the one I initially wanted! That always seems to happen :-p
This is Sapphire by KBShimmer, from the birthstone collection (I also got Ruby…which I posted about back in December). I cannot resist polishes that are jewel toned, saturated with metallic silver shards, and have holo in them. I now own 5!!! Sapphire is probably the darkest and most pigmented one in my collection though, since the other three non-KBShimmer ones are gold/silver/rose gold in tone.
This polish took two thin coats to cover (I probably could have gotten away with one if I applied it thicker). It dries down remarkably smoothly given all the glitter in it as well! The best part: removal wasn’t even that difficult! Maybe it’s because the glitter is in shards rather than hex shapes, and so catches my removing pad better? I don’t know why, but I am grateful! Regardless, Sapphire is a beautiful deep blue-jean/sapphire blue. I should have taken a photo with my sapphire engagement ring! Whoops. Either way, it is stunning.
I am a bit sad that I added the rhinestones before top coat though, they always go from hexagonal and shiny to looking matte with regular top coat. I think I’ve finally figured out a work-around for this problem, but since I actually painted these back in October I wasn’t thinking too deeply about it a week before the wedding. Whoops!

I didn’t want to cover too much of the polish with a design…so I turned to my best pretty-but-minimal stamping plate (EdM 03) and just picked one. Ta-da! Hope you enjoyed!
Somewhat wintry? I painted these a while ago, but they are all I had time to edit up for today!
These are basically a skittle-ette (since the ring finger and thumb match) and are almost not nail art since they are so simple! That being said, I still love the ridiculous holo craziness of Microcosm, so I’m not going to complain.
In the sun, these nails just went nuts. It was also fun to play with the textured finger (until all the rhinestones started falling off…at which point I had to change the whole mani).

The 31 Day Challenge is over! Back to random monday-wednesday-friday posts :-D. And lets begin with a new polish! I actually figured that the star of this mani was an appropriate name for the whole manicure. That seldom happens, but I think it works!
The base polish here is one of my new A Englands, called Briarwood. This is the one I had been lemming after since it came out…the others I bought as a bonus (I honestly don’t even remember if I’ve posted any of them yet). But this one…this polish is special. Briarwood is a one-coater plum brown holographic polish with a pink metallic flare. It looks like a deep vampy red with holo, until you realize it’s actually a dark brown with lots of pink glow. It is magical.
I didn’t want to cover up too much of Briarwood, so I added some tape and made a gradient! I got the idea from XOXO Alexis, although she used light colors and pinks, and I went with a darker forest brown theme 😀
I don’t know why exactly I settled on hot pink rhinestones, but when I looked at my rhinestone wheel they jumped out at me!

Super simple but rather cute looking if I do say so myself! Enjoy!
This started out as a great idea, and sort of fell apart as I went! Oh well. It certainly is glittery, so I’m using it for “glitter” day in the 31 day challenge.
The base here is by far the best part of this mani. It is one of the newer releases from ILNP in the ultra-metallic line (or something like that). Basically, it is a mix of rose-gold metallic glitter flakies and holo flecks and it is awesome! This is two coats of Juliette, and I am very happy with it! SO MUCH SHINY.
The problem is that the stamp I picked covered a whole bunch of the glitter! I thought it would cover less. And then I added a red rhinestone (why red? I don’t know. I should have done blue or something) so you can barely see the rose gold glitter! Oops.

Anyway, yes glitter, yes awesome polish, no not cool design. Live and learn!
So, today’s challenge theme was polka dots…which this is not. It is, however, a glitter bomb polish with circular glitter so I’m going to pretend that works!
The nail art (simple as it is) was inspired by @Kells_Hotz. Sometimes simple is good! Even for me :-p
When I did this, a while back, the base polish was new. I had my eyes on Sakura for over a year, waiting for Emily de Molly to have a sale. Seriously, I love this polish! The combination of hot metallic pink and grey is stunning. Sakura covered well in three thin coats…and I really only added the third coat for even MORE GLITTER. I stored the bottle upside-down before I used it, and had no trouble with glitter density! It helps that the glitters are of the smaller variety.

Tomorrows post really does have stripes, I promise!
