Happy birthday to me! And its been pretty incredible so far…my intern year is finally over which both means I get a full week off (wow) and that I don’t have to do internal medicine anymore! Yay! Also, a friend of mine took my last ED shift so I didn’t even have to work and overnight into my birthday! Win all around 😀
Of course, no birthday is complete without some awesome nail art! I am currently wearing rainbows (obviously) but I figured it was about time to post these ones! I was inspired by @urbannailart and just ran with it!
I ended up duplicating her idea, that is to say cutting triangles out of silver to make the design, but since she used foil and I just used polish they were MUCH harder to place. I kinda wish I had just freehanded them! Oy. Still came out pretty nicely but it took much longer than expected!
~ White: Sinful Colors – Snow me White
~ Purple: L’Oreal – Paparazzi Pleaser
~ Pink: Zoya – Kelsey
~ Orange: OPI – Freedom of Peach
~ Silver holo: Color Club – Harp on It
Hope you enjoyed! I am looking forward to doing some more neon/crazy designs at home while I have the time and freedom to be out of the hospital!
I wanted to do something simple with striping tape (I missed striping tape) so I went to my pinterest ideas and picked a striping based one that looked like it could be completed easily!
As such, this is inspired by a random unmarked pinterest pin, oops! I like that I added the stud at the bottom, but I think the original designer’s colors may have worked better. Especially her super glittery polish. I don’t really have anything like that!
Ah, pinterest, source of fantastic nail art ideas 🙂
~ Teal: Powder Perfect – There be Mermaids!
~ Black: Wet n’ Wild – Black Creme
~ Gold: ILNP – Fame
Hope you enjoyed! I’ll be back next week with some more stuff. Not sure what theme next week will have just yet, we’ll see!
More Mentality polish (we’re almost done with this collection, and I have grand plans to do a whole-collection post one weekend) and another tape mani!
The base for this polish is a light orange neon holo called Jolt. Jolt took three coats to be opaque, but dried fast and was easy to control. This color makes me think of the very very old carpet at my grandmother’s house…which is both a good and a bad thing. On me, this color is fugly, but also kinda fun! I have a hunch that I’ll be using it again.
The art was inspired by Yagala, only she did a bare bottom-half of her nail. I meant to use a creme for my green, but decided instead on a 100% Mentality mani, so I pulled out a dark green metallic instead of a creme. I still like it!
My goal here was to find the colors that clashed the hardest. I was torn between using pink and purple, but settled on pink simply because the polish was brighter. So yes, this mani is intentionally painful to look at 😀
~ Orange: Mentality – Jolt
~ Pink: Mentality – Excite
~ Green: Mentality – Reclaim
You can find all three colors used in this mani at the Mentality Shop. Jolt (and Excite) are $6.75. Happy polishing!
