Pale Purple Lace Mix

My sister wants pastel purple nails “with a hint of pink and white and nude but also with lace and flowers” for her wedding? Well, let me try! If I am being honest I don’t love the white over the super pale purple background, but my sister went somewhat gaga for this manicure (she liked the flowers on my ring finger) so there is that! My mother (who hates most nail art and prefers old-fashioned nude manicures) actually liked this one a surprisingly large amount.

~ Pale purple shimmer: Ethereal Lacquer – Little Oysters
~ White: Sinful Colors – Snow me White
~ Light purple: Zoya – Abby
~ Purple: L’oreal – Royalty Reinvented
~ Stamps: BP – L084, MoYou – Frenchy 14, Nicole Diary – L21

Please let me know what you guys think about this manicure, and if I should try and encourage my sister to let me to do something like this for her wedding or something more nude, more lace, or more floral! Hope you enjoyed 🙂

Red/Green Mix

So, this was a bit of a disaster but I do like the fluid nail art! I basically just grabbed a few colors and made things up as I went along. I think it shows, but honestly I don’t care :-p

~ White: Sinful Colors – Snow me White
~ Red: OPI – All I Want For Christmas (is OPI)
~ Red fluid: Dance Legend – Spot It Red
~ Red glitter: China Glaze – Ruby Red Pumps
~ Green: Zoya – Shawn
~ Stamps: Born Pretty – Halloween L004, Valentines L002, hehe – 028

Today it went from 65 and sunny with lots of wind to 28 and pouring out. I don’t even know what winter thinks its doing at this point? Oh well. One more Christmas-appropriate manicure after this one. Hope you enjoyed!

Unfortunately neither this design nor my photos came out exactly how I wanted. I was aiming to make poinsettia leaves/flowers and I think I achieved my goal, but you can hardly tell! Also all my non-sunlight photos you cannot see the design at all due to how closely it matches the red of the background. So you only get one photo today (it wasn’t worth the effort for me to edit any others if they just looked red). Anyway, I started with a red base and dry-sponged on splotches of other red shades including a glitter. Then I stamped with a darker red. So for very little result this actually took a bit of time.

~ Bright red: Zoya – Sooki
~ Brick red: KBShimmer – Chai-huahua
~ Red glitter: Zoya – Aphrodite
~ Red: Revlon – Valentine
~ Dark red: OPI – Visions of Love
~ Stamp: Born Pretty – Texture L002

That’s all I have for today. Fridays post will be better and much more visible, I promise! Maybe I will retry poinsettia flowers this yea brut actually make them visible. We shall see!

Pink on Green Swirls

This manicure makes me sad. I tried to match the pink shades that I used in the stamping gradient with the pink shimmer in the green polish…only for the pink shimmer to look more orange! I swear its a pink that shifts to orange, but its apparently JUST orange in pictures. Oh well.

~ Green with pink shimmer: Blush – Nerida Singer
~ Light pink: Born Pretty – Warm Tea Cherry Blossoms
~ Hot pink: Born Pretty – Warm Tea Crimson Cheeks
~ Stamp: Whats Up Nails – A010

It is at least somewhat fall-looking between the dusty green and the orange and the swirls. I do feel bad that I don’t have a single turkey or real thanksgiving-themed manicure to share this year! Sorry guys. Hope you enjoyed anyway!

Tarnished Locks

I don’t know why exactly, but for some reason this pattern reminds me of fancy engraved padlocks? The end result was pretty cool looking! And it was an almost perfect internally slightly skewed double stamp 😀 In the sunlight it almost looks like the silver is glowing through the black, which is one of the cooler accidental effects I have ever achieved!

~ Purple with pink shimmer: Quixotic Polish – It Rubbed Off From Friction
~ Silver: A England – Excalibur (Renaissance)
~ Black: Sinful Colors – Black on Black
~ Stamp: BP – L049

I have a whole collection of stamped manicures on backlog, which I need to get through before I can start posting a lot of the newer stuff, which is a whole bunch of freehand! We shall see how long this takes :-p. Hope you all enjoyed!

Bright Patches

I wanted to test out the orange jelly polish from Born Pretty. The color ended up being a little more brown-toned than I wanted, but since I picked it out myself I can hardly complain! It is a nice normal jelly so I am overall quite happy 😀

~ White: Sinful Colors – Snow me White
~ Red jelly: Zoya – Aphrodite
~ Orange jelly: Born Pretty – Arcadia
~ Yellow jelly: Esmalta da Kelly – Yellow Soap Bubbles
~ Pink jelly: Zoya – Paloma
~ Pink creme: Zoya – Kelsey
~ Orange creme: Formula X – Incandescent
~ Yellow creme: WOW – #301
~ Black: Sinful Colors – Black on Black
~ Stamp: Nicole Diary – L28

I should probably use this by itself at some point to give a better view of the polish, but I just enjoy mixing jellies with other jellies! Oh well. The tone is the brown-orange you can see by itself on most nails. To pick up this polish, you can find it here for $3.99. Enjoy!

Flower Out

This is a bit of an odd one? Beautiful base, fun stamp, and somehow it ended up looking halfway between etherial and too bulky (due to the black at the tip). I don’t know if I like it! Either way, it is appropriately fall-themed (which reminds me that I should wear this polish a BUNCH this month).

|~ Orange pastel multichrome: POP Polish – Slick Days of Summer
~ Black: Sinful Colors – Black on Black
~ Stamp: BP – L052

Hope you enjoyed! Today’s post might be simple, but I promise wednesday’s post is nuts and super colorful to make up for it 😀

Bright Flowery Teal

I have literally been saving this manicure for year so I can post it! Talk about inspired by a color :-D. The design itself is from @evgeshkammm because lets be honest it would never would have occurred to me to do naked nails by myself (I still hate seeing visible nail line, but it kinda works here?). Ugh, neons are the best!

~ Teal: Emily de Molly – Glee Ridden
~ White: Sinful Colors – Snow me White
~ Nude: Sephora X – Marvelous
~ Stamps: BP – L052, L008

Anyway, I hope you all enjoyed the stamps + freehand + geometric neon naked mani! This is a weird combo that I will likely never attempt again but I enjoyed it at the time!

Elongated Lace

In the ICU I decided that my nails should probably not stand out much. As a result, I went super subtle! Despite the subtly, I guess these were noticeable? I got a lot of compliments from various nurses and NPs. All the other residents and the attendings were, of course, male and did not notice at all :-p

~ Nude: KBShimmer – Caught on Tape
~ White: Sinful Colors – Snow me White
~ Stamp: BP – L020

I will see if I can’t drum up some slightly more interesting nails for next week. That said, the 31 Day Challenge starts in just 9 days, so it will be a whole month of the best nails I can put together! Which also means the most colorful :-D. Stay tuned!

Triangular Creamsicle

How about a neon? I wanted something ridiculously bright and here we are! This ended up rather odder looking than I intended. The creamsicle gradient was pretty so I added glitter? and white? triangles? I don’t know where my brain was at! Other than “I want bright things”.

~ Orange: KBShimmer – Papaya Don’t Preach
~ White: Sinful Colors – Snow me White
~ Orange holo: ILNP – Fired Up
~ Stamp: BP – L054

For some reason this manicure (yes, this one in particular) sparked a series of triangular glitter manicures. I think I did 6 in the next two months with a whole bunch of different colors. I will try to spread them out in terms of posting so you all don’t get too bored! Anyway, hope you enjoyed!

Glittery Half Moons

You guys i have no idea where I was going with this manicure. I (for once) wanted to do a half moon design, and then decided on glittery pinks? Honestly the base color and the glitter color do not go together at all, and current me is doubting past me’s sanity. But so be it!

~ Gold: Jade – Irresistivel
~ Black: Sinful Colors – Black on Black
~ Pink glitter: Cult – Center of Attention
~ Stamp: BP – L008

I think I should just give up on half moons as a category. The make great minimalist designs, but if we are being honest I am not so much a minimalist design kind of girl, so my half moons end up overly ornate and just a mess. Example A! Anyway, enjoy rolling your eyes at my nails today :-p

Carrot Gems

I didn’t know what else to title this! It ended up looking somewhat like a gemstone…with tiny carrots? I basically just stamped in black but didn’t like how that looked, so I grabbed a complimentary color to my shifty base which ended up being a dark orange. I overlaid some of the black patterns with orange…and then added black dots. The end result is actually really cool looking but I had no idea where I was going with this and can hardly take credit for it!

~ Orange/green multichrome: Ethereal – Rainforest
~ Orange: ULTA – Sun of a Gun
~ Black: Sinful Colors – Black on Black
~ Stamp: BP – L049

That’s all I have for today! I spent the 5 days I wore this manicure being constantly distracted by the glitter and the shifting colors, so kudos to Ethereal Lacquer I suppose! Hope you all enjoyed 🙂 (And sorry this is late! I totally forgot to pre-post before my 28 hour shift in the hospital.)

Petrified Leaves

If I am honest, I do not like this manicure at all. I like the new polish I was trying, and the stamp itself isn’t half bad…but why in gods name did I add those red-orange glitter shards? What was past Eva thinking? Bleugh! So, you only get one photo of the art. If it helps, the sun was not cooperating so it would have just been two indoor photos anyway…and the polish alone is wayyyy prettier than the design I chose to put over it. Take it or leave it!

~ Green shimmer: Pahlish – Petrichor
~ White: Sinful Colors – Snow me White
~ Red glitter: Born Pretty – Raging Fire
~ Stamp: UC – Lovely Leaves 2

The polish here is two coats of Petrichor by Pahlish, a polish pickup shade. It is a lovely dark green-leaning teal jelly base simply full of pink-gold-green shimmer and silver holo flakie shards. It is a busy polishes but quite pretty, goes on smoothly, and removes easily (despite the glitter load). This is probably the third almost identical shade that I own (clearly I have a type) but it still makes me happy! So, look at the pretty polish and not the ugly nail art :-p

Dividing Roses

Oh how I wish this plate was better etched, the designs are so pretty! This is the companion piece to the pink/periwinkle/purple floral art I posted last week. I liked the stamping plate soo much that I wanted to use it again immediately. Again, it did not work to my satisfaction! Maybe it will work better with more intense dedicated stamping polishes…but I have my doubts.

~ Light purple: Zoya – Abby
~ Periwinkle: Nails Inc – Regents Place
~ Yellow jelly – Esmalta De Kelly – Yellow Soap Bubbles
~ Black: Sinful Colors – Black on Black
~ Pink jelly: Zoya – Paloma
~ Stamps: Born Pretty – Flower Tango L002

Anyway, hope you enjoyed the roses! I have decided it is time to post spring-themed manicures (can you tell?) because it is April and I have a bunch of them sitting in my to-be-edited folder.

Pressed Leaves on Papaya

This manicure is a combination of many pretty things, that when put together, makes a surprisingly ugly end result. A nice gradient, some pretty glitter, a fun leaf stamp…and it did not work! Anyway, here are the individual pieces.

The base color is a new-to-me polish, three thin coats of Papaya Don’t Preach by KBShimmer. I wanted a pastel neon orange, and what I ended up with was a light neon orange…which is very pretty, I will absolutely use, and is not what I was going for! Oops. Darn comparison photos, it looked lighter in swatches (lets be honest, that is true of most neons, cameras just cannot handle them). As neons do, this dried semi-gloss, photos here are with top coat. It has a nice even glide to it and is quite a fun color! It is just too dark for what I had in mind.

~ Orange: KBShimmer – Papaya Don’t Preach
~ Pink: Zoya – Ciara
~ Purple: Zoya – Landon
~ Glitter: China Glaze – Fairy Dust
~ Black: Sinful Colors – Black on Black
~ White: Sinful Colors – Snow me White
~ Stamps: BP – Texture L002

I am also, FINALLY, the proud owner of Fairy Floss by China Glaze. I have wanted this scattered holo top coat for years but never wanted to pay full price for it. Well, I found it on sale for $5 and decided it was coming home with me this time. It makes gradients better, and I needed it! Ahhh, wonderful glitter :-). So, different pieces…odd end result. Hope you can enjoy somewhat!

Pastel Geometric Floral

his was full-on inspired by the demo art on this stamping plate’s shopping page. Unfortunately, the plate was just not well etched enough to really pull this off! I do love the images but I could barely make the stamps pick up even with all my tricks and my best stamper head. 😦

~ Pink: Zoya – Jordan
~ Purple: Zoya – Abby
~ Periwinkle: Nails Inc – Regents Place
~ Green: Zoya – Tiana
~ Glitter: Cult Nails – Center of Attention
~ Black: Sinful Colors – Black on Black
~ Stamps: Born Pretty – Flower Tango L002

Regardless, the manicure ended up pretty. The caveat of course is that I went over a fair amount of the black lines by hand, since they did not end up picking up enough to call it a stamp. If you guys want to pick this up for yourselves (and cross your fingers that you get a better etched plate than I did!) you can find it here for $3.99.

Neutral Marble Flowers

I wanted to water marble, but I also needed something subtle for the hospital! This is what I ended up with. If I am being honest I don’t love it, but it is certainly subtle and work-appropriate, and has watermarbling!

~ Nude glitter: Sayuri – Anthos
~ Nude: Zoya – Chantal
~ Pink: Zoya – Jordan
~ Grey: Zoya – Dove
~ White: Sinful Colors – Snow me White
~ Stamp: BP – L067

The oddest thing about working from home while being a doctor is how staffing is working at the moment. To try and keep the minimum people getting sick at once we are truly working in shifts: so I am working from home 3/4 days and only going into the hospital on day 4. This is a deeply weird time and I don’t know how I feel about it. St Louis is preparing for the storm of COVID patients, although we aren’t there quite yet. Stay tuned! And hope you maybe somewhat enjoyed these odd nails :-p

Permutated Mutagen

Happy almost-St-Patrick’s Day! I do actually have a lot more and more suitable manicures, but I haven’t had a chance to transfer them onto my computer yes so you get these instead! At least they are green.

~ Green multichrome: ILNP – Mutagen
~ Black: Sinful Colors – Black on Black
~ Pink glitter multichrome: POP Polish – Watermelon Bubbleslick
~ Stamp: Born Pretty – L078

I think most places have cancelled any and all St Pattie’s day festivities, and if I’m honest, I am grateful. I am a doctor, and it is low key terrifying the preparations that hospitals have been forced to take in order to prepare for the coming disaster. I am aware that I am likely to lose any and all free time in a manner of weeks (if not days), and there is a chance this blog might go on hiatus if I end up working more than 80 hours a week in the hospital (hopefully that won’t happen, but I think it likely will). So please, enjoy wearing green, be happy…and hang out in small groups.

Neutral Vibrations

I don’t know why exactly, but for some reason this manicure makes me think of the ripples of sound waves. Vibrational nails! Of course, these are also super neutral for the hospital, but I like them more than I thought I would! Each finger has a minimum of three stamps, which is a lot even for me :-p

~ Nude: CND – Cashmere Wrap
~ Blush: Zoya – Rue
~ Grey: Zoya – Dove
~ White: Sinful Colors – Snow me White
~ Stamps: Born Pretty – L005

Even though these are neutral-toned, and I have had a LOT of neural toned negative feelings after my Valentines nude-and-lace boring montage, I still don’t mind these! If you have to go neutral, at least make it interesting 😀 Hope you enjoyed!

Elegant Silver Grey Overlay

This one might not have many colors, but it makes up for that with elegance! There are few monochromatic manicures that I actually enjoy wearing, but this was one of them. The stamp is lovely, and silver-on-grey works (at least sometimes).

~ Grey: Zoya – Dove
~ Silver: A England – Excalibur
~ Stamp: BP – L049

I feel like I seldom wear things that qualify as classy in anyway, but these nails made me feel fancy! They might not be as much fun as my usual style, but sometimes a girl just needs class over pizzaz :-p

A full 5 days into wearing the manicure I added some rabbits because I have a friend that loves them. I was impressed by how good the mani looked…but also, bunnies! So please enjoy the classing down of the silver grey-ness too 😀
