I couldn’t help but think that this mani ended up looking like dirt with veins of gold in it. I was hesitant about this mani but I really like how it came out!
These colors are the same (other than the gold) to those used in an earlier mani, Coffee and Cream Chevrons. I wore these to work, so I needed my hands to look as similar as possible…without requiring me to freehand more chevrons! I settled on a gradient with gold lines.
The gradient is over a base of Zoya Flynn rather than a white base. It made the whole thing darker, which I like, but meant that the palest brown stood out less. I think if I were to re-do this I would use the lightest brown (Zoya Chantal) as the base color rather than Flynn or a white.

~ Dark brown: Zoya – Louise
~ Gold: Essie – Good as Gold

Maybe I should have stamped the same pattern on each nail rather than rotating the image, but I always like changing it up just a bit! Oh well. Hope you enjoyed!
Another swatch post today, with some fun (but simple) stamps!
The base here is my first ever Cadillacquer polish, and I have to say I really like the color! This is three coats of Memory Palace it does not have the densest pigment (hence needing 3 coats) but it went on like a dream and dried at a normal speed. However, the bottle brush was a bit too wide and took some maneuvering to not flood my cuticles.
Memory Palace is a pale blue-grey with golden flakes and subtle holo shimmer. I need to do a comparison between this and Timeless Vow from ILNP, since both are blue-grey with holo (although just from the bottles, Memory Palace is much paler, almost a white-grey-blue than Timesless Vow, and Timeless Vow has more holo).
I’m not going to lie and say I don’t love this polish for its name…although I thought it was inspired by Sherlock and it turns out the actual inspiration was Hannibal, whoops!

That’s all for today! Hope you enjoyed 🙂
Finally, colors! Again, a simple polish + stamp design, but I do think these pair nicely.
There really isn’t much to say about this, its just brightly colored and glittery. I did think about making it more complicated, but I actually liked how this looked and decided to stop before I ruined it.
I have a whole lot of polishes that I don’t use nearly as often as I should, and Teal Dimension is one of them. The depth is just lovely!

Hope you enjoyed! Happy Friday!
It’s cold out, so I can use thermal polish! I honestly remember this one being MORE shifty than it currently is, but thats alright. It still shifts and it is still pretty! I want to go use my other two shift polishes and see how they behave now as well 😀 especially after all the fun I’ve had with the new ones from Bow Polish (although, I technically painted these first in anticipation of getting the new ones).
Really, this was just a fun little thing that I put together. I figured a self-forming gradient counts as a gradient, and just stamped over a simple polish. Unfortunately, that meant that the nails chipped easier (since it was fewer layers of polish) but it was also much faster!
I also wish I could wear more purple polish…I don’t know how acceptable jewel-colored polish is. I think I should be ok for the next two weeks, since I am conveniently going to be on service with some friends of mine! But that really only gives me time for 3-4 manis. Oh well.

Hope you enjoyed, simple but pretty!
So, I was trying to make this by badgirlnails, and I failed spectacularly. My colors didn’t blend well because I’ve never tried to blend jellies before, and my glitter base was abysmal. Failure from step one and I should have known it! So when all was said and done and looked awful, I just stamped over it. and now it looks awesome 🙂
I started with a white base (Wet n’ Wild – French White Creme) and added three different glitters over it trying to get the density I wanted. I started with I Only Have Ice for You by KBShimmer but there wasn’t enough glitter even after two coats, so I hand-placed a few large circle holo glitters from the disaster that was I Snow You Love Me by OPI, and then added a thin brushing of Fame by ILNP. It looked awful.
I then tried to brush on, and finally dab on, my Zoya jellies. I’ve owned Frida for a while now, but I wanted more polishes for lead lighting so I bought Katherine and Paloma during their 50% off sale on black friday. While I love all three polishes, I think I’m going to stick to lead lighting rather than blending from now on!
Once I had them all on and blotchy looking, I decided I hated it. But, I had plans in the evening and I couldn’t restart the whole mani…so I just grabbed a dense stamp (one of the Bundle Monster Shangri-La ones) and stamped at random. It came out pretty well!
I hope I’ll be showing you some actually good jelly manis in the not-to-distant future. This one might has well have been a standard non-jelly gradient!
Happy after-Christmas and third day of Hanukkah! I need to get a move on making some menorah nails if I want them edited within the next 5 days :-p.
These were inspired by @simplenailartdesigns, although its a bit hard to say anything with a blue gradient and snowflakes was inspired by any particular person, its such a common design!
Regardless, I like how these came out. I added little silver glitters to the center of the snowflakes a few hours later, so the sunlight photos have glittery bits too 🙂

This is by far not the end of my winter and christmas manis…this is just the last one I got done ahead of time to be able to post 😀
These were also the nails I submitted to the Nail Art Canada holiday nail art challenge, but I lost the link somehow so I didn’t get them posted until one day before the contest closed. As a result, I didn’t win, but I did somehow make top 5 for the people-who-submitted-to-vote (let’s see how that one goes!), but thanks to all of you who voted anyway!
I put these together using stamping decals for the holly and simple stamps with dots added for the branches nails. Overall quite easy!
