I’m pretty sure these nails are my first ever attempt at a dry-brush mani. I have to say, it was fun, easy, and looks pretty cool! I think I’ll try it again sometime 🙂
The design was inspired by badgirlnails. I made up the design on my thumb, and it looks cool too. Sadly, my ring finger tape is a bit wonky, but I only realized that AFTER I added top coat, so too late!

This mani reminds me of the time between spring and summer, when the swimming pools open! Its the teal. It has to be. It also works pretty well for Easter 🙂
Hope you enjoyed!
Another of my recent favorites! This was something I never would have thought of myself (and I actually had to do a lot of touch-ups to the middle layer to make it look how I wanted) but was really fun to do!
The design was inspired by @mymaynails although honestly I do like her colors better! I tried to color match but I don’t have a neon enough teal-blue, so I changed it up and did pale teal/hot pink/dark purple. I really need to get on a set of neons or bleached neons.
Unfortunately, this was the first time I’ve tried dry-marbling using a stamper and my results did not look a stood as hers! I ended up re-smushing some more purple and blue tones, since the pink really wanted to dominate. It ended up pretty good though!

Another new polish! For some reason I’ve decided to post a lot of swatch photos this week. Maybe because I’ve bought a lot of new polish recently. Regardless, this was another polish that I had been lemming after for a while (although, a shorter while as it only came out this fall), that I decided to buy and then ended up adding 3 more polishes to the order. Whoops!
This is Pending Perfect by Emily de Molly. It is a bright almost pastel neon teal color (thats a mouthful!) swimming with pink shimmer. It looks like its glowing, and is quite lovely! That being said, the polish was a bit harder to work with. It was thicker than most Emily de Molly polishes I have, although once I figured that out it was easy to manipulate. I needed three coats for coverage, but probably could have gotten away with two if I was paying more attention to how it was spreading.
The design was inspired by twi_star, again something minimal because I didn’t want to cover up too much of the polish…although I wish I had stuck to her design a bit more closely!
This isn’t a particularly wintery mani, but I wanted to post it now anyway since the color reminds me of teal icicles. Also, this has not been a very wintery winter….its been in the 50’s outside! I am so confused. GLOBAL WARMING EXISTS (well, obviously. Grrrrr).

Hope you enjoyed, and happy Friday!
Blue and sparkly, yay! Also, I think this might be one of my favorite single stamping images that I own. And I own a lot. But I’ve used this stamp a whole bunch of times!
Anyway, I wanted to create a blue shimmery gradient and then a stamp that almost only shows up over the lighter tips. Goal achieved!
For reasons unknown, the sun was not cooperating with me, so there is only one sunlight photo and it isn’t that great. Sorry!

Hope you enjoyed! Next post: pink and boring.
I’m alive! Sorry for the 1-week posting delay…I only had one nail art design pre-edited before the wedding and I didn’t get a chance to work on any others during the wedding weekend or last week. Sorry!
Back in September I spent WEEKS painting my nails various shades of purple looking for what I wanted to wear to my wedding. I ended up with 10 different test designs…and I ended up picking #9, which is here!
The actual nails I did for my wedding looked a tiny bit different…I left off the little leaves on the swirls and I made the light purple V-shapes deeper (my nails were also a bit longer). Overall, I think they looked quite good! Not subtle (since purple nails really can’t be subtle) but not super in-your-face. One of my friends even took a photo of my nails with the bouquet that I’ll post with the actual nails in the near future!
Putting these together was also a bit weird! These were made in a way that was initially counter-intuitive to me…I started with the dark purple base! Then the light purple (striping tape to delineate) then the stamp (I blocked off the dark purple area with liquid latex). So, easy, but odd! It does work better than my old method though, for some reason.

So that’s it, the mock-up of my wedding nails! The rest of this week and most of next week will be more purple nails, the ones that I chose not to go with. The only one I have actually already posted was tested back in JULY because I am nuts…and went into the galaxy post for the 31 Day Challenge.
Today begins a week of awesome manis! I don’t know why, but I enjoy clustering pretty manis into one week and less-than-ideal manis into other weeks. So this is an awesome week with some of my favorite manicure stemming back to March! Since I am me, that really means there will be a lot of bright colors this week.
This particular mani was just me going “fun with colors and gradients and striping tape!”. I wanted to add rhinestones below each gradient, but I didn’t have the right colors, so I just added a dot with my darkest gradient color. I love how it came out!
I actually forgot to write down the colors I used for this mani! I think my notes app deleted my initial note (again…oy, this has been a recurring theme). I’m not going to write them all down, I have a pretty good idea what color I used for each nail, so if you are curious just ask!
Unfortunately, the sun did not cooperate with this mani. Ergo, there are no happy sunlight photos 😦 Despite that, I’m alright with the quality of the ones I picked. Sun, come back and play!
In other news, it was 95 degrees out all weekend and I am sad. In protest to life, I didn’t paint my nails at all this weekend *gasp* although I did manage to assemble all 140 wedding invitations *bigger gasp*. Busy times!
I had my engagement photos taken the day after I painted these, and I figured that in 15 years I might not want to look back and see rainbow nails (I mean, honestly, I likely would but just in case…) so I have some pretty subtle dangly black and pink nails today!
Most of this nail art comes from some beautiful water decals from Lady Queen Beauty. The decal is DS-189, and it is an array of half moons, pointed half moons (what I have here) and curly love words. These decals are super thin, which makes them sit nicely flush with the nail…but also makes them prone to folding on themselves. I actually had one fold in half and then rip and had to trash it, so although I love how these look they are a bit hard to work with!
Regardless, I think these look nice without being overly boring! I almost went and used “love” on one of my nails as well, but that is a bit more kitchy than I was going for. Sometime later!
~ Light pink: ULTA – Freshwater Pearl
~ Light pink shimmer: Revlon – Calla Lily
The water decals are currently on sale for $1.99 at the Lady Queen Beauty shop, and if you have something elegant coming up in the future I recommend them! No one wants to hand-paint tiny lines and swirls :-D. Hope you enjoyed!
