Happy New Years! This was not intended as a New Years mani since I wore it early in December, but it is sufficiently glittery, and all that I really have on deck at the moment so here we are!
The design was, yet again, inspired by Sveta Sanders. I should have just gone with the naked nail base, but I thought the purple and grey would go well together! I regret that decision, as it made the whole design look much darker than intended. Also, I should probably have done this mani with longer nails! And I was trying to decide between ALL of my multichromes for this mani…and ended up going with a holographic multichrome.
I feel like I should probably let you all know that I will not be responding to comments or anything for a little over a week, as I am on a cruise boat somewhere in the Caribbean! Given how cold the east coast is right now, this whole beachy summer boat thing is pretty darn awesome, or so I assume 🙂
~ Grey: Zoya – Dove
~ Purple holo multichrome: Emily de Molly – State of Mind
The one biggest triumph here though is the design on my pointer: I need you all to know that I used striping tape to make that triangle base. And a little bit of creative polishing. I do not own those cool triangle stencils that everyone else seems to have! Anyway, happy New Years and I hope you guys all had fun last night!
Snowflake time! I figured it was about right to start posting some real winter nail art. However, I am also sick so these almost didn’t get edited since I slept half the day!
The design was inspired by Sveta Sanders <<https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZamJx99H4wo>>, because I keep stalking her instagram and finding new awesome things that I need to replicate. Now, she used chrome powder and I used multichrome nail polish, but the result was the same. Next time (and there will be a next time, I rather love this), I will use a slightly more consistent design than snowflakes.
I am also glad that my nails are much less stained than they used to (I think I have the interview season to thank for not being able to wear any bright blues or dark greens), so I can actually have some naked nails! This will never happen again, sadly.

~ Sheer nude: Sephora X – Marvelous
~ White: Sinful Colors – Snow me White
~ Stamps: BM – 323, L008 (born pretty store with Chinese label)
I have at least two other snow-themed manis coming up at some point, I hate painting snowflakes but I love stamping them! I should, at some point, buy a dedicated snowflake plate.
Hope you enjoyed!
This mani is…fairly random. I figured it was about time to start posting some actual holiday nail art, so here we are!
I am going to pretend that these are ornaments on a tree. I did mean to make them gold and green for Christmas, so let’s go with it! I just didn’t figure they would end up quite so…gold.
The only colors here are the green-to-blue multichrome, which is Reminisce by ILNP and black which is Black on Black by Sinful Colors. The stamp is from BM plate XL209, because I’ve always enjoyed bubble-looking designs!
I then decided to try out some of the gold studs I was sent from the Born Pretty Store. Now, this particular set also has starfish and seashells…and was supposed to arrive back in June but it came with this batch in November instead! So instead I am using some less summer-y gold bits, but this summer I WILL be using those adorable seashells.
Anyway, I used the smallest circle studs and the empty circle studs here. I must say, I was impressed by how easily the hollow circles stayed on, despite their large size! The gold color did not run off with top coat, which has happened with some other 3D bits I’ve used. Overall, quite nice! If you want to pick up this stud set, head over to the Born Pretty Store, where you can find it for $2.29. Enjoy!
A couple months ago I joined a group called the Polish Pickup Pack. I had been seeing ‘boxes’ for a while where every month they advertised a different set of polish but you had to buy all of them! Then PPP came along…and its actually quite cool! A whole bunch of indie polish makers each create a polish around a theme (mythical creatures, gemstones, holidays), and you can buy, or not buy, anything you want. Unfortunately, they only sell the polish for one week out of a month, and once that one week is over the polish will never be sold again. That said, I have picked up some REALLY cool polish!
The one I am showing you here is from the October theme of “mythical creatures”, although I only received it in November since it takes a while for the makers to actually bottle and then ship all the polish. Still, this polish is freaking beautiful and worth waiting for! I have found in any given month that some of the polishes are really NOT my style, and some months many are right up my alley.
This is three coats of Not Your Average Seahorse by Blush Lacquers. I have never tried a Blush polish before, but they killed it with this one! I don’t actually know how to describe this. The base is a deep navy blue jelly with a scattered holo finish. However, it also has a bright orange to gold to green shimmer that is made up of tiny flakies (wow), PLUS actual larger flakies that are green to purple to pink. It is ridiculous and I love it. I actually put it on my shelf with my multichrome polishes despite it not TECHNICALLY being a multichrome, because it doesn’t fit anywhere else!
Anyway. I then colored in a triangular stamp with some black to add a bit of contrast, and stamped in gold. I do a bit wish that I had kept the black stripes in the same location on each nail, but I was going for something a bit more interesting? Regardless, I think it looks pretty cool!

I bought one more polish from this particular month’s polish pickup pack that I’ll have up on the blog in a bit, and two from the December theme. Nothing struck my fancy from November. Regardless, if you are interested, you can join the Facebook group or just check out the offerings at the beginning of each month. I am a fan!
I think I am pun-y! Well, it isn’t a pun, the title is basically just alliteration but it still makes me happy. As does this mani! It is technically still autumn…and currently the ground in Philly is completely covered in leaves. It is pretty, crunchy, and utterly ridiculous. When I walk outside I feel like I am eating leaves!
The base polish here is intended, I think, as a topper…but I wanted to make it opaque! This is three coats of Raging Fire by Born Pretty over one thin coat of a dark red base. Honestly, this polish was almost completely opaque at two coats! The final coat was mostly for my pinky, which I had painted more sparsely than the others. Despite looking uneven, the glitter was actually quite smooth after one coat of top coat. That said, the polish itself is thick and a bit goopy…good for dense flakie placement but it would have been difficult to get a light coat of polish.
The flakies themselves shift from pink/red to orange/copper to gold and emerald green at sharp angles. Since the flakes are at slightly different angles to each other, it is actually easy to get the whole color shift! It was mesmerizing.
I then made stamping decals using a left design from plate Floral BPX-L018 with Essie Good as Gold and colored in between the leaves with OPI Visions of Love. It looks quite fun and glittery! I know I could have instead just painted the leaves of the stamping decal with flakies…but this was so much more fun :-p
And, surprisingly, this was pretty easy to remove! Since they are flakies and not true glitter, they dissolve with acetone. The dark red was more painful since the color tends to stain my cuticles. If you want to pick up this flakie polish for yourself, head over to the Born Pretty Store, where you can find it on sale for $3.69. Enjoy!
I love this polish, but I really am not enjoying the design I put over it! I feel like that has been happening more frequently
The base color here is the last of my new F.U.N. Lacquer polishes. This is three thin coats of Cheers to the Holidays (H), but the last coat really wasn’t necessary. The polish is a purple multichrome that shifts to bright pink, but has a bright blue shimmery flash…AND holo glitters AND gold sparkle that of course turns red and purple. Wow. This polish looked fantastically different in different lights.
For the design, I tried to stamp with black but it didn’t show up…but that is why my pointer and middle finger look like they have more depth to them. I ended up stamping in pink and then using rose gold to color in little bits of the stamp, hoping it would pick up the rose gold in Cheers, but that didn’t happen.

~ Pink: L’Oreal – Orange you Jealous
~ Rose gold: Essie – Penny Talk

I need to wear this base color again but with something else over the top! It is so colorful that I don’t know WHAT over the top, but I’ll figure it out.
Hope you enjoyed!
Another new polish! This one is super shifty and cool :-). I could hardly bear to cover it, so I did a truly minimal design!
What you see here is two thin coats of State of Mind by Emily de Molly. When I first saw this polish online I knew I had to have it…precisely because I had absolutely no idea what the actual color of the polish was! It looked very different in various photos, but all of them looked awesome. As it turns out, the polish is a multichrome that shifts from a dusty pink, through copper, and to olive green. It is a deeper color than most that I own. On top of that, it has a bright pink-fuschia shimmer, as well as copper multichrome shards (you can see them in indirect light). It ALSO has an intense linear holo finish that glows bright purple (I don’t know how Hayley made the holo a different color than the polish, but its magical). Basically, this polish is confusing and super pretty.
The design, such as it is, was inspired by MarnieLP but I might have to try this again with better tape placement now that I know how the spacing goes. I love the idea! Maybe the next crazy weird polish I get 😀

~ Silver: Nails Inc – South Kensington
I wish my camera was better at capturing purples…the polish is a bit brighter and quite a bit more pink-toned than it looks under indirect light in my photos. I tried to color correct, but my fingers looked like zombies so I left it this way.
Hope you enjoyed!
