Ah, a throw-back to when I had to wear girly subtle nails to the clinic. Luckily, I have been able to get away with wearing more colorful nail art (as long as it looks professional) for the past month, but this was sitting in my folder so I wanted to get it posted!
There isn’t much to say about this. Its a purple-nude polish with a white lace stamp. It isn’t bad looking, it just isn’t at all exciting!

I am at least glad that I’ve been stockpiling nude and nude-ish polishes, since I imagine once I actually start residency I will need to pretend I am a fairly normal polishing person who only wears nudes, pinks, and reds…rather than the purple/blue/teal/green loving fanatic that I am. Ugh!
That’s all for today! Next week should bring something more exciting than this…although if you want exciting I think Wednesday’s post counts :-p
This was a mani I did over the first week of Christmas break, with nothing but holiday-themed glitter polishes. This was a PAIN IN THE BUTT to clean up (since I had used tape…I had not thought to bring liquid latex as a barrier), but it came out quite nice! The addition of white makes it not-too-much-glitter, methinks.
I need to remember in the future to bring more creme polishes when I travel. If my sister is going to be around I tend to just bring a rainbow, but I was on my own for this part of the trip so I just grabbed some suitable “holiday” polishes. Which apparently means ALL THE FOIL GLITTERs. Never again!

Hilariously, it looks like I accidentally took all the Zoya Ornate collection polishes that I own with me on this trip! I ended up with Ziv and Blaze…I do also own Storm but it didn’t quite make the Christmas cut, so it was left behind. But, that is ridiculously coincidental! Ironically, I also brought my super glittery green Zoya polish which I was convinced was Logan…but I don’t own Logan, I decided to buy Ivanka as well three years ago, and somehow forgot! Clearly, I need to use green glitters more :-p
Hope you enjoyed all the glitter! I would say happy Wednesday, but today starts at 7am (although luckily it is warm enough for me to bike to the hospital rather than the 40 minute walk in the morning), so less-than-happy Wednesday!
Booooring. So boring. You guys I almost don’t want to post these, they put me to sleep. It almost would have been better to just leave them pink. This is…bleh.
Sometimes though, you just need your nails to fit in. No one noticed these (because there was basically nothing to notice). Ergo, the plan worked…I just wasn’t proud to wear these!
The base is Eternal Optomist by Essie (a nice muted medium-pink creme), with a silver floral stamp and a white dot in the middle. I should have used a rhinestone or SOMETHING rather than just white polish.
I don’t really have much else to say. Welcome to snoresville: population – my nails. *shrug* I promise the nails get more exciting for my next post! I just can’t live with boring nails :-p
The joys of wearing blue scrubs during my surgical rotation was getting to paint my nails blue in a professional situation and having no one bat an eye at it!
This was just a really simple mani on my tiny nubbins, but I really like how the stamps came out. Somewhat work appropriate (if you can wear blue to your job) and super easy! Unfortunately, with my current rotation I am not permitted to wear nail polish AT ALL in one set of operating rooms…which is terrible since right now my nails are an awful blue-yellow mess (not green…blue at the bottom where I forgot base coat on two nails, and yellow near the edge)! I’ve been trying to avoid getting assigned to those ORs, which is easier than I first assumed as most of the surgeries are occurring in other spaces. Regardless, it means I have had plain nude nails for a full week. No design at all. Its awful! I look back FONDLY on wearing subtle nail art in grey-blue or pink.
Anyway! My only wrong step with this mani was using Rock the Boat by Essie as my base…its a pretty color (that matched my scrubs perfectly) but it takes 3-4 coats of polish AND is a slow dried. So this mani wasn’t a fast as I was aiming for! It did last a few days longer since it was so thick (but once it cracked, there was no fixing it).

Hope you enjoyed! I have enough of a back log of manis that I don’t think my 6 weeks on my current rotation will cause me to run out of posting fodder…but we shall see! I also think it might only end up being 2/6 weeks, maybe 4/6 at most. There is no way they care this much on my outpatient weeks.
I did a series of blue-grey nails while I was wearing scrubs in the fall (since they matched my scrubs). I was thinking of putting them all up over one week, but I think you guys would get bored so I am spreading them out!
This was probably one of my favorites, but it was barely sunny so you can’t see much of the awesome holo base 😦
This past year was all about buying muted colors that I might be able to wear in the hospital…I hope I can convince myself that its ok to buy a few more vibrant ones this year! I was looking through other bloggers “top 10 polishes” lists, and really I only saw a few polishes that I wanted and only one badly enough to keep my eyes on it (Nine Zero Lacquer – Singer’s Auto Salvage). Oh well!

Hope you enjoyed! Happy Friday 🙂
This did not come out how I planned…mostly because I can’t make curved dotted lines on my non-dominant hand! This was initially supposed to be a slightly modified version of @twi_star@twi_star. I like that I added extra draped beads (and the silver) but I wish I had been able to make the delineating dots consistent! Also water decals >> stamps. I just don’t have the right water decals. Whoops!
In other news, I really hate the names of Nails Inc polishes. I know they are named after places in England…but they are impossible to remember. Give me SOMETHING more creative!

That’s all for today. My current rotation is kicking my butt and I didn’t get a chance to edit my nail art this past weekend cause of Thanksgiving!
I have a lot of nail art in my backlog that is purple…mostly due to attempts to find wedding nail art! I didn’t want to use purple. However, I also found this…which was something I did while I was on my surgical rotation in July. Ergo, my nails were tiny and short but on the weekends I was able to rebel and wear something colorful and shiny and awesome (just for two days). This is inspired by teal.
It was a bit hard to figure out how to do a gradient on little tiny nails! I wanted to have even more colors (usually I can do 4-5) but I settled on 3 in the blue-teal range. Then I added a stamp with the always wonderful A England holos (they stamp like a dream), and put on a 3D rhinestone for extra “I’m not at work I can wear fun things” effect 😀
So here we are, with blue and teal for the inspired by a color day of the 31 Day Nail Art Challenge!

I almost want to repeat this on my nails when they are longer again! Right now they are back to being short (I am on my anesthesia block) but still. Long nails + color = awesome. Sorry these are so short!
