So, I was trying to make this by badgirlnails, and I failed spectacularly. My colors didn’t blend well because I’ve never tried to blend jellies before, and my glitter base was abysmal. Failure from step one and I should have known it! So when all was said and done and looked awful, I just stamped over it. and now it looks awesome 🙂
I started with a white base (Wet n’ Wild – French White Creme) and added three different glitters over it trying to get the density I wanted. I started with I Only Have Ice for You by KBShimmer but there wasn’t enough glitter even after two coats, so I hand-placed a few large circle holo glitters from the disaster that was I Snow You Love Me by OPI, and then added a thin brushing of Fame by ILNP. It looked awful.
I then tried to brush on, and finally dab on, my Zoya jellies. I’ve owned Frida for a while now, but I wanted more polishes for lead lighting so I bought Katherine and Paloma during their 50% off sale on black friday. While I love all three polishes, I think I’m going to stick to lead lighting rather than blending from now on!
Once I had them all on and blotchy looking, I decided I hated it. But, I had plans in the evening and I couldn’t restart the whole mani…so I just grabbed a dense stamp (one of the Bundle Monster Shangri-La ones) and stamped at random. It came out pretty well!
I hope I’ll be showing you some actually good jelly manis in the not-to-distant future. This one might has well have been a standard non-jelly gradient!
Simple easy work-friendly mani today!
Unfortunately, the sun did not cooperate, so you can’t see how peachy this looks in the light, with its contrasting bright pink flash. You can see a hint of it in the direct light photos, but still!

I did so many lace nails in a row back in September that I am completely done with them for the time being. That being said, there are a few more waiting in the wings.
Happy (belated) new years! This was not my actual new years mani, but I haven’t actually had any time to edit nail art over break! So much for relaxing and free time. Yikes.
So, the last of my Christmas and my New Years mani will just have to wait till next year? I can probably post the new years one as just a random glittery thing, but i don’t think that santa and elves are anything but christmas!
Regardless, for this mani I was going to stamp…and then I just did dots instead?? It isn’t the best, but it is certainly glittery! And maybe a bit like fireworks if you squint.

I was thinking of doing top-10 posts sometime soon (my favorite nail art and polishes of 2016) but I realized I haven’t posted what is probably my favorite polish of this year! Oops. So maybe I should put that post together first :-p
LAST PINK MANI. Maybe for this entire month. I am sick of pink. Even if this is more of a peachy-pink than a true pink like the rest of this week.
Honestly, work-play-polish, back when she posted, used to manage to make even work manis fun! Although she was able to grow her nails to a decent length since I don’t think she was wearing double-layered gloves on a daily basis :-p. Someday I will figure out how to make work-appropriate manis that are stunning.
On the plus side, even though this design is super simple, I actually like it! I keep forgetting how subtly fun the Nabi holographic polishes are. Indoors this was not particularly exciting, but all I had to do was go stand in a window and my nails were instantly more fun. The rest of the designs this week…not so much

Happy Friday! And happy first-day-off-in-two-weeks to me tomorrow 😀
Short and pink again, for the hospital! I did warn you guys :-p
These ones are, if possible, even MORE boring. The base color is very close in shade to the design itself, and all polishes used were cremes. At least Monday’s (and Friday’s, actually) designs used a mix of polish finishes. But, this didn’t get noticed! *headdesk*
The sad part about my current nail predicament is that I’m fairly certain I could get away with painting either disney/pixar designs or anything superhero on my nails right now and it would be fine! Pediatrics is nice like that. However, I have NO time to paint my nails! Not only that, I had to work through this past weekend. Seriously. 13 straight days of sick kids is just depressing. At least I have this coming weekend off.
I’ve been investing in some interesting nudes and light greys just so that the next time I have to wear nothing-but-work-appropriate nails, at least they won’t be uniformly light pink!
One more pink design this week, and then next week they should get more exciting again :-p Just bear with me! And you know, if you really need to hide but still paint your nails, take note I suppose!
This officially begins a week (honestly, probably one of many!) of completely work-appropriate manis. Which is to say this is a week of short nails painted in various shades of pale pink. Sad, but it works!
While I was on surgery, I needed to make sure the team absolutely did not notice my nails! Now, the team was mostly guys, but if they had noticed I’m sure they would have told me to take the polish off and my nails were a disaster back in July. Ergo, girly, pink, and subtle nails.
I also don’t really like ikat patterns, but I saw this on one of my stamping plates and I figured it was something between an ikat and a tribal pattern, and thus couldn’t be too terrible. Honestly, it isn’t half bad! And the stamp worked perfectly.
Hope you enjoyed…maybe! I apologize in advance for all the upcoming pink.
Short post today, because I forgot to write this over the weekend and I need to head into the hospital for work!
This was inspired by Pet Nails although I cannot seem to find her blog anywhere! Googling “pet nails nail art” is a sure-file way to get pictures of people’s dog’s painted toenails!
My nails are not so varied as hers nor are my lines quite as thin…I almost wish that I had looked at her image while I was painting mine! Mine are fine, but her’s are better and I could have done them exactly. Whoops!
