This mani is simple, but looked kinda amazing. And I had nothing to do with that fact. It was 110% the polish that I used!
Anyway, the polish of the day is Fired Up by ILNP. This polish is amazing. What you see here are three thin coats. First off, I had 0 clean up with this. Nothing. The polish was perfect to apply, which is fairly rare. Second, the color is drop dead gorgeous. It is a silver-white scattered holographic base swimming with bright orange shimmer that shifts through gold to green at sharp angles (you can see the green reflection off neighboring nails). I love it.
Once that I was dry, I stamped with a swishy ripple design from one of the born pretty store plates that is labeled in non-english, so I cannot type it up! but it is full of pseudo water marble patterns. The white polish is, as always, Snow me White by Sinful Colors.
And that’s it, that’s the mani. I feel like I usually have a bunch more to say, but I am too busy staring at these photos to say much. I love the polish. I want to wear it again right now.
For those of you who are curious, the only other similar polish I own is Rosewater by ILNP (they came out with a whole line of them) and I think the shimmer in Fired Up is maybe a hair more intense…but mostly Rosewater is a vibrant pink and Fired Up is a bright orange. Same basic concept otherwise!
Hope you enjoyed! My plan for next week is a bit different…I am going to put together swatch test comparisons for a bunch of similar polishes that I own, in an effort to help others makes buying polish easier, but mostly because I need to destash some of my polish before I move! Oops. So, stay tuned for swatch comparisons!
Raindrops are totally a pattern, right? So droplets must be! I was going to create a nautilus shell, but I didn’t want to spend hours painting each nail…I settled on this and I rather love it.
The design was actually inspired by a previous design of my own, Pond Ripples. Since I obviously still have the same colors, and I recently bought a new copy of the stamping plate I used (that now picks up much MUCH better), I was planning to exactly copy the design…but THEN I tested my teal flakies over a bunch of other polishes and picked a different base!
If nothing else, this mani is insanely glittery. Not in a holographic way, but just…a lot of layers of shimmer. You cannot tell in the photos but when I shift my nails its mesmerizing. I am also glad I bought a new copy of this plate, I really love this stamp!

I actually added matte top coat to one finger just to see if I liked it better (because I have to do that whenever I add flakies) and although it was pretty, I liked the depth of shimmer better with shiny top coat. Shiny it is! Hope you enjoyed 🙂
This mani is cool, but you can hardly tell! I ended up using two different metallic polishes smushed together to make a colored ripple design. Sadly, in most of the photos I took you could hardly tell! I tried to pick out ones where it was clearer.
I also didn’t mean to cover so much of the base polish, its so pretty! I’m going to need to remember to use it again soon, this hardly counts since it can’t be seen. I like to try and rotate which polishes I use as base colors so they all get some attention :-p

That’s all for today! Happy Friday.
I had SUCH A HARD TIME picking out a name for this mani! Ripples? Droplets? Anything with “nude” in it sounded dirty and scandalous, which is sooo not what I was going for here. I was aiming for “subtle and tasteful” so I don’t upset the bigwig I am meeting with tomorrow morning. I hope I accomplished it!
Once I go back to work in the hospital, I imagine you will be seeing a lot more manis like this one. I got the idea from work/play/polish (for all that her blog hasn’t been updated in months 😦 ), to do some work-appropriate manis once I have to go back into the hospital. We’ll see if they let me wear nail polish at all!
This is maybe one of the reasons I’ve been stocking up on nude-toned holos and shimmers. If I can only wear a solid color (oh dear) at least it should be shiny! Even stranger…I don’t think I’ve NOT worn nail art of SOME type since I started this blog, 3.5 years ago. If my nails have polish, they also have designs!

Hope you enjoyed!
The application that I write my posts on needs to start behaving. I wrote a whole post (again) today and just went and disappeared! Ugh. Today’s prompt was “travel.” I thought about palm trees, but that was too easy. Then my new stamping plates arrived!!! Llarowe was having a sale, and I just had to get some of the Emily de Molly stamping plates, because they are stunning and I’ve never seen anything like them (well, ok, maybe Messy Mansion has some, and MoYou but I don’t own any of them).
This particular design caught my eye, because it looked like ripples in water, so I decided to turn it into a pond! That technically counts as travel since there are no ponds near me :-p. Anyway, the stamp rather failed…which is to say I used one of my newer black polishes. It turns out (and I only went looking AFTER I finished this mani) that stamps with super-fine lines like this need special stamping polish. I don’t own special stamping polish, but I do own some old mostly empty bottles of black and white that I use to stamp! So I’ll try that next time.
I did practice this stamp the day after I did this mani, and it works great on paper…with the aforementioned thick black polish. Oops :-(. I was really disappointed with how this came out, because the stamp was stunning and the base was awesome and it just didn’t come together how I wanted! Oh well.

Anyway, the stamp is out of stock right now (usually it’s here) but some of the others are still on sale. No, I was not asked to review this (I wish!) but its cool enough that I’m sharing the link anyway :-p Enjoy!
