A somewhat simple mani (made by smushing colors on with saran wrap), and then some striping tape! It ended up looking far more elegant than I intended it to 🙂
The base here is a pale grey creme called Dove, by Zoya. I’ve been in the market for a light grey for a while, since my last one ran out….around 2 years ago. Whoops. Dove covered perfectly in two thin coats, and reminded me why I love buying cremes from Zoya! This isn’t a shocking color, but it is pretty. Not that many brands have a grey creme in stock at all times, so I’m glad Zoya does!
The art itself was my (successful?) attempt to make my nails look like marbled granite. I know most people start with a white base (and if I ever do this again, I am likely to as well) when they try to create a white/grey/silver granite look but I wanted to see what it looked like all grey! And I needed to use Dove in a way that would look cool but be subtle enough for work.
I actually took a whole bunch of photos before adding the striping tape, because I wasn’t sure if I would like it. I really did though, so there are no photos here of the silver-less manicure!

Hope you enjoyed! Stay tuned for another swatch on Wednesday.
Booooring. So boring. You guys I almost don’t want to post these, they put me to sleep. It almost would have been better to just leave them pink. This is…bleh.
Sometimes though, you just need your nails to fit in. No one noticed these (because there was basically nothing to notice). Ergo, the plan worked…I just wasn’t proud to wear these!
The base is Eternal Optomist by Essie (a nice muted medium-pink creme), with a silver floral stamp and a white dot in the middle. I should have used a rhinestone or SOMETHING rather than just white polish.
I don’t really have much else to say. Welcome to snoresville: population – my nails. *shrug* I promise the nails get more exciting for my next post! I just can’t live with boring nails :-p
This nail art was my way of sneaking something super glittery into the hospital! Under indirect light it mostly just looks like a peachy-gold color, and no one noticed that it becomes rainbows in the sun. Maybe if I was really trying to be subtle I wouldn’t have used a black stamp, but I wanted it to pop.
I initially bought Irristivel by Jade for this exact purpose, to wear something that I knew was stunning while everyone else thought it just looked like a nude polish. Success achieved!
I haven’t listed the stamping plate because it is one of the ones from the Born Pretty Store that has a non-english identification. Unfortunately, my computer does not have chinese characters (nor would I know how to use them!)

Hope you enjoyed! Friday’s mani is a bit more colorful and daring, since I do get to paint my nails on weekends as well 😀
Simple easy work-friendly mani today!
Unfortunately, the sun did not cooperate, so you can’t see how peachy this looks in the light, with its contrasting bright pink flash. You can see a hint of it in the direct light photos, but still!

I did so many lace nails in a row back in September that I am completely done with them for the time being. That being said, there are a few more waiting in the wings.
LAST PINK MANI. Maybe for this entire month. I am sick of pink. Even if this is more of a peachy-pink than a true pink like the rest of this week.
Honestly, work-play-polish, back when she posted, used to manage to make even work manis fun! Although she was able to grow her nails to a decent length since I don’t think she was wearing double-layered gloves on a daily basis :-p. Someday I will figure out how to make work-appropriate manis that are stunning.
On the plus side, even though this design is super simple, I actually like it! I keep forgetting how subtly fun the Nabi holographic polishes are. Indoors this was not particularly exciting, but all I had to do was go stand in a window and my nails were instantly more fun. The rest of the designs this week…not so much

Happy Friday! And happy first-day-off-in-two-weeks to me tomorrow 😀
Short and pink again, for the hospital! I did warn you guys :-p
These ones are, if possible, even MORE boring. The base color is very close in shade to the design itself, and all polishes used were cremes. At least Monday’s (and Friday’s, actually) designs used a mix of polish finishes. But, this didn’t get noticed! *headdesk*
The sad part about my current nail predicament is that I’m fairly certain I could get away with painting either disney/pixar designs or anything superhero on my nails right now and it would be fine! Pediatrics is nice like that. However, I have NO time to paint my nails! Not only that, I had to work through this past weekend. Seriously. 13 straight days of sick kids is just depressing. At least I have this coming weekend off.
I’ve been investing in some interesting nudes and light greys just so that the next time I have to wear nothing-but-work-appropriate nails, at least they won’t be uniformly light pink!
One more pink design this week, and then next week they should get more exciting again :-p Just bear with me! And you know, if you really need to hide but still paint your nails, take note I suppose!
