I have had this mani sitting in my to-try list for literally years. My sister-in-law visited and I asked her to pick a nail polish base color and she goes “dark royal blue, or purple” so I decided to do both and remembered that I had wanted to try this!
It just so happened that of course I ended up painting a moon! Now I know today’s challenge is a galaxy mani, and I actually HAVE one of those, but I figured I would shake it up a bit and post this instead. You can’t see the galaxies because of the clouds :-D. Also YESTERDAYS challenge was half moon, which again I hate that type of design so I’ve been doing moon-themed manis for a few years and I just needed to get this out!
The design itself was inspired by @sketchpolish, although I ended up leaving my version shiny (both my husband and sister-in-law said they liked it better than matted)!

~ Dark blue: Zoya – Sia
~ White: Sinful Colors – Snow me White
~ Light blurple: Nails Inc – Regents Place
~ White glitter: Whim – Frosted Cupcake
Anyway, I hope you enjoyed! This was a lot of fun to paint, and I will forever be grateful that I finally have stamps with perfect circles that I can use for things like moons. I hate free-handing circles!
I know it isn’t spring anymore, but I got the PERFECT base color and I just had to make this! I’ll likely do it again next year so it fits :-D. Also, flower day anyone? 😀
This awesome design was inspired by ruthsnailart which I have recently become obsessed with. If we are being honest, I added too many cherry blossoms (I like her slightly more minimalist design) but this still looks pretty epic!
The base is a stunning periwinkle blue/purple polish with copious pink-gold shimmer and silver flakies called Traverse the Skies by Emily de Molly. I have had my eyes on this polish ever since it came out, and it does not disappoint! I love it. It is super interesting (both in terms of color and finish), and is just close enough to purple that I’ve also already worn it to the hospital. This is three thin coats, although I probably could have gotten away with two if I was more careful.
What you probably can’t tell is that there are THREE colors of brown in the tree branches (and an additional three colors of pink in the blossoms) and putting this all together took longer than I thought it would. That said, it was worth it! I am impressed.

~ Dark pink: Clinique – Pinkini
~ Pink: Wet n’ Wild – Tickled Pink
~ Light pink: ULTA – Baby Doll
That’s about it for this one! I’ve never made cherry blossoms this way before (usually I try to make little flowers rather than dots) but I really like this. Hope you enjoyed it, happy flowers day!
Neon colors are the BEST when I don’t have any interviews! This was inspired by a pinterest pin, but I couldn’t find the original nail artist so you’ll just have to trust me that this is a bit more neon and less pastel, but otherwise close :-p
Two brightly colored manis in one week? Yes please! This the focus of this mani is the stripes I figured it fit well for today. It was painted last Fall (which tells you guys how long I’ve been saving some of these manis).
At some point I need to create a folder of ‘colors that work well together that you’d never guess but should absolutely combine’ because without the inspiration for this mani, I would never have thrown coral with neon green and teal! But it works 🙂

~ Neon green: Essie – The More the Merrier
~ Neon teal: Emily de Molly – Glee Ridden

I also just thought I should share, I am for some reason playing “this is halloween” on repeat on my computer and it is making me very happy :-). Hope you enjoyed!
Rainbow nails! Finally! This is kinda a combo of day 9 “rainbow” and day 10 “gradient” cause it is a rainbow gradient! I haven’t been brave enough to wear rainbows to the hospital yet; these are from the vault.
I absolutely love this mani. Bright colors, strips, gradients…it has it all! That said, the post going up on Wednesday for stripes day has even MORE stripes. Or at least, they are the focus of the nail art itself.
I always find myself gravitating towards sparkly polish with shimmer and flakes and holo…and then I have to remind myself that if I’m being honest I use my brightly colored creme polishes a LOT more frequently than any of my crazy glitters! Because they really are better for nail art.
That said, I have yet to buy an appropriate neon green creme, so the subtle shimmer in this mani is from the neon green polish! It was a gift, but I really need a creme variety. If you guys have any advice for bright neon green cremes let me know!

That’s it for today! I’m really enjoying stalking Facebook, IG, and the linkup for everyone else’s manicures! The other Eva, in particular, is – as usual – blowing everything out of the water 😀
This mani is a bit of a funny story. I saw a really pretty design on pinterest, and decided to go try it. On the way to finding the original poster, I found a youtube video of the mani! Only…it turns out the picture was deceiving. I had initially loved the white/pale blue contrast of the background when in fact the whole nail was white and it was just how the image was white-balanced.
Regardless, this design was inspired by followthatway. I decided to go with what I THOUGHT the design was, and use both white and pastel blue as the background (I think you can see why I thought the background was partially blue). I did, however, LOVE how her roses looked, so I tried to copy her instructions precisely to re-create them! I’ve never particularly cared for the way my roses look.
In the end, I think it was a pretty decent reproduction. I am envious of everyone who uses acrylic, because I just cannot get curves with polish the way they seem to work with acrylic. It also took me halfway through my first hand to figure out the pattern I liked for the flourishes, so the thumb of my left hand is overall my favorite nail in terms of pattern. I rather gave up on my right hand, oops!

~ Pastel blue: Zoya – Blu
~ Blue: Zoya – Yummy
~ Dark blue: Zoya – Sia
And that’s it! I almost want to try these again now that I know how to make the flowers flow together, but this took ~3.5 hours and I just don’t have the time!
Hope you enjoyed! Happy blue day in the 31 day challenge!
Happy 31 Day Challenge! It isn’t quite the same without Cathy (from More Nail Polish) but she is on vacation so we shall have to try without her guidance! Anyway. I am, as I mentioned last week, obviously not participating daily. However, I have lined up my M-W-F posts for the next month with that day’s theme to the best of my ability! Since today is day 3 and thus the ‘yellow’ them and I HATE the color yellow, I went ahead and combined orange and yellow together. Ta-da!
When putting this mani together I went ahead and grabbed most of my orange polishes. And some yellows. And then I realized that I think I only own two polish colors with ‘?’ in the name. They are apparently both orange and both involve puns/jokes. Go figure!
The design itself was inspired by @lieve91, and for once I sort of think I did it justice? Regardless I really like how this came out! It isn’t entirely orange or yellow but it fits the theme ENOUGH.

Hope you enjoyed! On Wednesday I will post to the day 5 prompt of ‘blue’ and it might be my favorite mani of the year. I’ll let you guys decide! :-p
This is a super complicated mani, but I kinda love it. I was sent some very tiny rose gold caviar beads to review from the Born Pretty Store, and I went to town with them!
Most of my caviar beads are what I would consider standard size…which is easily twice the size of these ones. Look at how many pretty rows are on my middle finger! I ended up mix-and-matching with a fishtail, some other studs, and basic diagonals. I had seen a similar mani online, but I didn’t want to use a black base so I settled on a very dark blue with subtle gold shimmer 🙂
~ Dark blue: Zoya – Blake
~ Rose gold metallic: Essie – Penny Talk
~ Rose gold glitter: ILNP – Juliette
I have never really tried to place a bunch of studs and then surround them with caviar beads, mostly because my other caviar beads are larger, and the whole thing takes forever. That said, I did my middle finger first (well, I did the polish-only nails first, but it was the first nails with 3D elements) and since that only took 10 minutes, I went ahead and did the others with lots of tiny beads too. Success!
If you want to pick up these tiny beads for yourself, head over to the Born Pretty Store, where you can find them for $1.79. I kinda love them, and can’t wait to figure out ways to use them now!
