My original prompt for half-moon day was a total flop. I tried to make a cute floral half-moon mani and just kept…adding stuff. I think I’m going to do a few days of “fails” after the 31 day challenge ends, and you’ll see it then. However, the awkward half-moons of sadness looked like someone barfed easter onto daleks, so instead I went ahead and made real daleks!
The base color is a silvery-gold holographic polish from Sparkly Vernis called Gilded Lemon Drops. When Llarowe had its closing-up-shop sale in August, I picked up three polishes, and this was one of them. It covered nicely in two thin coats, and has a cool golden-yellow sheen in indirect light, plus a fairly strong holo flame in direct light. It is an almost silver gold, and I really like it!
Once Gilded Lemon Drops was dry, I added thin curvy lines in black (Sinful Colors – Black on Black) to make half-moons. See, it totally fits the prompt! I then added a somewhat thick layer of top coat and placed a blue rhinestone and small golden studs all over my nails. My thumb got an Emily de Molly stamp from plate 03, and then some 3D additions just for fun. I didn’t want to make the world’s fattest dalek!
I am somewhat glad we are over halfway done with this challenge…its getting challenging (ha!) to change my nails so fast!
So, nerdy half-moon mani it is! I hope you enjoyed 🙂 Tomorrow’s is also fun and moderately nerdy 😀

Thanks!
This is an amazing design. I always struggle with the half moon prompt, so I’m going to save this for inspiration next year – it’s awesome.
😀 thank you! Half moon is never my favorite, but if something ends up sufficiently nerdy, I’m happy!
😀 These are …. Darlink … lol, puns.
